Just one dose of  QUEST PLUS Gel treats and controls encysted small strongyles, bots and roundworms. QUEST PLUS contains an additional active ingredient — praziquantel — for efficacy against tapeworms. The American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP) recommends tapeworm treatment in the late fall or early winter after tapeworm transmission ends due to cold weather.

Small strongyles are the key parasite of concern for adult horses. This equine parasite has shown widespread resistance to fenbendazole. Moxidectin, the active ingredient in QUEST PLUS, continues to show efficacy.

QUEST PLUS is the only FDA-approved product to suppress the production of small strongyle eggs, and a study showed egg suppression persisted for 90 days. This residual parasite control reduces pasture contamination and provides a period of protection from reinfection for horses and ponies.

QUEST PLUS is proven safe for use in a variety of horses, and is the only product approved to treat encysted small strongyles in breeding mares and stallions.

Prior to purchasing a dewormer, work with your veterinarian to complete a fecal egg count (FEC) test for your horse.

Do not use QUEST PLUS Gel in foals less than 6 months of age or in sick, debilitated and underweight horses. Do not use in other animal species, as severe adverse reactions, including fatalities in dogs, may result.

One syringe of QUEST PLUS treats up to 1,500 pounds.

As treatment doses are based on the weight of the animal, use a scale or weight tape to determine each animal's weight before treating.

Once an accurate weight is known, treat each horse or pony as follows:

  1. Adjust the ring to your animal’s weight and lock into place.
  2. Make sure there is no feed in the animal’s mouth.
  3. Remove the cap from the end of the syringe. Save the cap for reuse.
  4. Place the tip of the syringe inside the animal’s mouth at the space between the teeth.
  5. Gently push the plunger until it stops, depositing the gel on the back of the tongue.
  6. Remove the syringe from the animal’s mouth and raise the animal’s head slightly to make sure he swallows the gel.
  7. Replace the syringe cap.
