For chewable tablets, weigh your dog and be sure you are giving them the correct dosage according to the directions on the packaging. You can then put the tablet in your dog’s mouth, or disguise it with cheese, peanut butter, or regular wet food for ease. Be sure your dog takes the tablet in its entirety. Then watch your dog closely for 2-3 hours to make sure it is not rejected. Repeat in consecutive days according to the directions on the product.

If your dog refuses to take chewable tablets, liquid medication may be a better option.

For liquid medication, weigh your dog and administer the correct dosage amount according to the packaging instructions. Medication can be placed directly into your dogs mouth, in water, or in food. Be sure your dog takes the medication in its entirety. Then watch your dog closely for 2-3 hours to make sure the medication is not rejected. Repeat in consecutive days according to the directions on the product.

After the treatment period is complete, which can range from a few days to a few months depending on the case, monitor your dog for signs of infection as they could be infested again.

How often should you deworm your dog?

Products should be reused at least every three months to help eliminate the risk of infestation again.
